Verification

Every deal we handle,
inspected by real people.

No algorithms grading photos. No "verified" stamps based on seller history. Every item that ships through huccy is opened and checked against the terms the buyer and seller agreed — by a trained human at our hub.

Our toolkit

We check what was agreed.

Every deal has its own terms — condition, accessories, specs, authenticity, whatever the two sides agreed. Here's the toolkit we draw from to verify them. What gets applied depends on what's in the deal.

01

Serial number verification

Cross-checked against manufacturer databases and stolen-goods registries.

02

Authenticity confirmation

Model markings, hallmarks, packaging — all the signals counterfeiters miss.

03

Functional testing

Every claimed feature operated, every spec measured against manufacturer baseline.

04

Performance metrics

Battery health, shutter accuracy, port function — whatever applies to the category.

05

Accessory inventory

Original parts, cables, manuals, boxes — checked against what was listed.

06

Cosmetic grading

Same scale every time. No inflated grades, no euphemisms.

07

Undisclosed damage scan

What the listing didn't mention — dents, scratches, repaired panels.

08

Signs of third-party repair

Aftermarket parts, refurbishments, unauthorized mods.

09

Firmware / software check

For electronics — version current, no malicious modifications, clean state.

10

Chain of custody

Documented from drop-off to ship-out. You know who handled it.

11

High-res photography

Macro shots of every flaw and every detail. The report is the photo album.

12

Final report sign-off

A named inspector signs the report. They own the call. No algorithm.

Sample reports

What you actually get.

Every deal we handle ends with one of these — a real report against the terms agreed. The buyer reads it before approving. The seller has it as proof of what was sent.

The people behind the box

Trained for each category.
Responsible for every call.

An iPhone isn't inspected by someone who knows watches. Cameras aren't graded by laptop techs. Each category has its own trained inspectors — huccy staff for general consumer goods, certified partner specialists (jewellers, watchmakers, sneaker authenticators, mechanics) for higher-value categories.

  • Named inspectors — every report is signed by the person who wrote it.
  • Category-specific training — manufacturer documentation, third-party calibration tools, ongoing audits.
  • Chain of custody — logged from drop-off through ship-out. You know who handled it and when.

FAQ

About the inspection.

How long does inspection take?

24-48 hours from the moment the item arrives at the hub. Urgent items can be expedited; we'll tell you upfront if it'll be longer for a specific category.

What happens if you find a problem?

We report it plainly in writing — to both the seller and the buyer. Neither side gets a heads-up the other doesn't. Then the buyer decides: cancel for a full refund, or accept at a renegotiated price.

Where is the facility?

The hub is in Lisbon, Portugal for phase 1. Expansion to other EU cities is planned as volume grows. Shipping addresses and pickup zones are shown in the app when you create a deal.

Who are the inspectors?

Real people, trained on the specific categories they handle. Higher-value categories (jewellery, watches, sneakers, vehicles, instruments) route to certified partner specialists. Each inspector signs every report they produce.
